Adult Classes
Crossroads Bible Study (room 202) - This is a group of adults of various ages who strive to study the Bible and its applications to their lives today. Class members who volunteer to lead discussions, use selected materials to generate lively sessions. This class is currently studying Romans.
Francis Asbury Class (Francis Asbury Classroom, Room 301) - Any senior adult looking for a Bible Study group (Cokesbury's International Bible Series) is urged to join this class on the second floor across from the choir room. There is a regular class teacher.
Friends Through Fellowship Class (room 304) - This class is a small informal group that studies various topics of interest to its members, including Bible study, book study, and social issues. The class does not meet every Sunday, but works around the schedules of the class members. All ages are welcome.
Mae Kelly Class (room 204) - This class uses the International Bible Studies from Cokesbury. A regular teacher uses the lecture/discussion method to lead the class. The group consists of “just older youth” who are in their fifties or older.
Mizpah Class (room 206) - The Mizpah Class consists of senior ladies, who study the International Bible Studies from Cokesbury. Regular teachers lead this class.
Open Forum Class (room 203) - The Open Forum class explores contemporary life through the lens of Christianity. Members participate in discussion-oriented seminars that strive to clarify what real Christian action is in today’s world. The Bible is studied as a guide to spirituality and as a commentary on humanness and on what God wants for our lives. Guest speakers, biblical scholarship, and current literature enrich the topical studies. Members plan and enjoy outreach work both within the church and the community. Special outings are planned for members and their families. Each week's discussion is led by volunteer members of the class.
Young Adult Class (room # 111) providing a place for Asbury’s young adults to gather on Sunday morning for fellowship and spiritual growth.
Wilton-Darnell Class (room # 207) This class uses the International Bible Studies from Cokesbury. A regular teacher uses the lecture/discussion method to lead the class. The group consists of women who are in their fifties or older.
Brotherhood Class (room # 305) This class uses the International Bible Studies from Cokesbury. A regular teacher uses the lecture/discussion method to lead the class. The group consists of men who are in their fifties or older.
