An Invitation to Discipleship
Every week, we as a congregation are invited to be Disciples of Christ. Below are invitations from our most recent worship services:
Invitation to Discipleship (5/12/13)
Personal Challenge: Are you in a small group? Being together in the community of a group can give Christ-followers both roots and wings. Roots keep you connected to Christ. Wings are what release you to serve. If you are not part of one, this week begin to explore becoming part of one.
Social Challenge: If you are part of a small group, is your group making room for new people to join groups within our church family? Everybody has a deep desire to be known, cared for, prayed for and welcomed…and that can happen only in a small group.
Invitation to Discipleship (5/5/13)
Fully worshiping God involves our physical selves, our emotions, our money and our ministry. During this week, in which area will I, will you, intentionally engage more deeply?
Invitation to Discipleship (4/14/13)
How are you doing at leading your life well?
Do you have someone in your life who is asking you “how is your soul?” If not, this week consider how you might find that accountability: become part of a small group, a LIFE Group, with a prayer partner, or spiritual friend. So that you can be truly connected to an accountable, Christian community.
Invitation to Discipleship (Palm Sunday, 3/24/13)
This week let everything in your life be the witness of stones, showing forth the love of God in Christ. It is hard to do this, So, to be strengthened to do this, come for worship on Holy Thursday at 7 PM; on Good Friday: the downtown cross walk at noon or the 7 PM Tenebrae Service of shadows
Invitation to Discipleship (3/17/13)
By her gift, Mary prepared for the day of Jesus’ burial.
By our prayers and presence, we prepare for this Lenten turn toward Palm Sunday and Holy Week.
As you leave worship this day, come touch the waters of baptism and remember God’s grace poured out for you, in fragrant abundance. Continue to wonder, what will you waste for Jesus today?
