Voices of Youth 2011

Asbury missionaries Alli Burks and Jay Horton would like to express their appreciation to their church family for the many expressions of support during their recent trip to the Domincan Republic with Voices of Youth on the “Born of Water, Renewed by the Spirit” tour. Alli and Jay were part of the 26 member youth and adult team who participated in the month long program through the Virginia Annual Conference to awaken the United Methodist Church to mission. The group spent time with the people of Cuesta Arena working with their new friends to dig and prepare a cistern for collection and storage of clean water for the community, and enjoyed time with the children of the Dominican Republic as well. The Virginia tour featured a worship service at Asbury on August 4^th, and Jay and Alli were again touched by the support of their church family while they were in Harrisonburg.
